Genesis – Beginnings, Faith, and God’s Promise

We’re starting something new this month: a series that walks through the Bible, book by book, using the King James Version. Our first book is Genesis, the book of beginnings.

Genesis is full of stories we all know — Creation, Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham — but reading it slowly, thoughtfully, reveals lessons that are often overlooked. It’s a book about God’s faithfulness, His creativity, and His desire for relationship with us from the very start.

As I reflect on Genesis, a few key truths stand out:

  1. God is the Creator and Sustainer – Everything begins with Him. When life feels uncertain or chaotic, Genesis reminds us that God’s power and purpose are unchanging.
  2. Faith is Tested, But God is Faithful – Abraham, Joseph, and even Noah faced seasons of waiting, uncertainty, and challenge. Their obedience and trust in God’s promises show us how to navigate our own journeys of faith.
  3. God’s Promises Are Steadfast – From the covenant with Noah to His call to Abraham, Genesis reminds us that God keeps His word, even when circumstances look impossible.

For this series, each month we’ll explore one book of the Bible in depth, highlighting themes, practical lessons, and ways to apply God’s Word in daily life. The goal is not just knowledge — it’s transformation.

As we begin with Genesis, I encourage you to reflect on beginnings in your own life. Where is God calling you to trust Him more? How can His promises guide your next steps? And what seeds are being planted in your life today that God intends to grow?

Genesis is just the start. And as we move through the Bible together, may we see God’s hand at work in every story, every promise, and every moment of our lives.
