March 2019 (Genesis – Abraham’s Faith and Covenant)
Abraham – A Life of Trust and Obedience
As we continue exploring Genesis, this month we focus on Abraham, a man whose life teaches us about faith, obedience, and God’s promises.
Abraham’s journey wasn’t easy. He was called to leave his home and family, to step into the unknown, and to trust God with a future he could not see. Yet in every challenge, Abraham chose obedience.
Lessons from Abraham’s Faith:
- Trust Without Seeing
God asked Abraham to move to a place he had never seen. Sometimes faith asks the same of us — to step forward even when the path is unclear. Trusting God doesn’t mean we understand everything; it means believing He is faithful. - Obedience Brings Blessing
Abraham’s willingness to obey opened the door to God’s covenant and blessings. Obedience may feel difficult, inconvenient, or even scary, but it positions us to experience God’s purposes in our lives. - Patience in Waiting
God promised Abraham descendants as numerous as the stars, but the fulfillment took years. Waiting is part of faith. Patience doesn’t mean doing nothing; it means trusting God’s timing while faithfully walking in His ways.
Reflection for Today:
- Where is God asking you to trust Him even when the outcome is unclear?
- What steps of obedience feel hard right now, but may lead to blessing?
- How can patience strengthen your faith while you wait for God’s promises?
Abraham’s story reminds us that faith isn’t passive. It’s a daily choice to trust, obey, and believe God’s promises are true — even when we can’t see the full picture.
As we continue this Genesis series, I hope Abraham’s life encourages you to take your next step in faith, trusting God’s covenant and His faithfulness every day.
