Deuteronomy – Remembering God’s Faithfulness
This month, our Bible series continues with Deuteronomy, a book of reminders, guidance, and covenant renewal. Moses speaks to Israel, urging them to remember God’s faithfulness, obey His commands, and trust Him as they prepare to enter the Promised Land.
Key Themes from Deuteronomy:
- Remember God’s Faithfulness – Looking back at how God has guided and provided strengthens our trust for the future.
- Obedience and Blessing – Following God’s commands leads to life and blessing; ignoring them brings consequences.
- Passing Faith to the Next Generation – God’s Word isn’t just for us — it’s for those who come after us.
Key Stories or Passages:
- Moses’ Recap of God’s Works (Deuteronomy 1–4): Remembering God’s past faithfulness strengthens faith today. Lesson: Reflect regularly on God’s goodness.
- The Shema (Deuteronomy 6:4–9): Love God fully and teach His ways. Lesson: Faith is meant to shape our hearts and our households.
- Blessings and Curses (Deuteronomy 28): Obedience brings blessing; disobedience brings consequence. Lesson: Our choices matter, but God’s guidance is clear.
Practical Applications:
- Take time this month to journal God’s faithfulness in your life — past provision, answered prayers, guidance.
- Identify one area where you can step into obedience more fully, trusting His promises.
- Share God’s Word with someone else — a family member, friend, or community — passing on faith.
Reflection Questions:
- How can remembering God’s past faithfulness strengthen my trust today?
- In what areas of life do I need to obey God more fully?
- How can I help others see and experience God’s faithfulness?
Closing Encouragement:
Lord, help me remember Your goodness, obey Your commands, and trust Your promises. May my life reflect Your faithfulness, and may I share Your love and guidance with those around me.
