Creativity as Calling

This month, I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means for creativity to be more than just a skill — for it to be a calling.

Blossom Braid International has been growing quietly, and with that growth comes the reminder that creativity is a gift God has entrusted to us. It’s not just about making things that look good or sound impressive; it’s about using our gifts to serve, encourage, and glorify Him.

Some days it feels like a lot of ordinary work — writing, planning, designing — and it’s easy to forget the bigger picture. But God keeps reminding me that these small acts are part of the calling too. Faithful steps in the everyday work matter as much as the moments that feel “big.”

I’m learning to pay attention to how God shows up in the process, not just in the outcomes. A project that brings encouragement to one person. A post that sparks an idea for a ministry. The quiet satisfaction of finishing something well. These are signs that He is present and working through this calling.

Creativity is not just my work — it’s my ministry. And even when the days feel ordinary, I can trust that God is doing extraordinary things through the faithful use of my gifts.

If you feel your creativity is just part of your day-to-day, take heart. God sees it. God values it. And He will use it in ways you may not even realise yet.
