When Faith Requires Letting Go of Control
One of the quieter lessons this season is teaching me is how tightly I like to hold control.
Not in obvious ways — but in subtle ones. Wanting to manage outcomes. Wanting reassurance. Wanting to know that the steps I’m taking will lead somewhere safe and successful.
But faith has a way of loosening our grip.
With Blossom Braid International, I’m realising that control often disguises itself as responsibility. I tell myself I’m just being wise, just planning ahead. And yet, God keeps inviting me to release the need to manage what only He can carry.
Letting go of control doesn’t mean disengaging. It means trusting God enough to do the work without trying to dictate the results.
This has been uncomfortable. But it has also been freeing.
Blossom Braid International is not mine to orchestrate. It’s mine to steward. And stewardship requires humility — a willingness to follow rather than lead.
If you’re struggling to release control over something God has asked you to trust Him with, know that you’re not alone. Faith often asks us to loosen our grip before we see the fruit.
Today, I’m choosing surrender over certainty.
And that, too, is an act of faith.
